Riihisaari Public Guided Tour in English

Welcome to get to know Riihisaaari museum and its wonderful old museum ships under the guidance of a guide!

Ihmisiä seisoo vanhan laivan edessä rannalla.

Our exhibition tour introduces life on Lake Saimaa throughout the ages. How did people move around on the waterways? You’ll also get to meet the Saimaa Ringed Seal.

We’ll explore history of our museum steamships as well. Our shipboard tour takes a look for example at the 148-year-old steam schooner Salama and her story. Salama sank in 1898 and spent over 70 years at the bottom of Lake Saimaa.
