The Pikku-Saimaa swimming pool is a light and welcoming swimming pool on the shore of Lake Saimaa. The pool complex includes a 12.5m x 25 m six-lane pool, a children's pool 5 m x 10 m, a Jacuzzi, 3.5 metre high diving boards and a 37 m long slide. There is also a gym and a café.
Next to the swimming pool are two tennis courts, mini-golf and a beach.
Savonlinna has public beaches and small public beaches. Public beaches are beaches which attract more than 100 people a day. These are Karkulahti, Koulukatu (Pikku-Kakkonen beach), and Heikinpohja. These beaches are maintained regularly and services include changing rooms and rubbish collection. At Koulukatu and Heikinpohja there are also toilets.
Small public beaches are Everlahti, Laitaatsilta, Kalastajakylä, Tärysaari (Jukolansalo) and Ripakkolanlahti. Savonranta's swimming beach is in the village on the shore of Pukkivirta. Other places to swim in Savonranta are Rönkönvaara, Hankavaara and the Oriniemi campsite. Small beaches are maintained by the municipality's technical services department and rubbish collection and maintenance is carried out weekly.
Dogs and cats are not allowed on public beaches.
